The Craft of the Platinum Print

This is the workshop to take if you want to learn the art of making platinum prints using both the traditional and the NA2 platinum/palladium printing processes. Topics to be covered include: paper choices, image color and contrast controls, basic hand coating methods, use of step wedges and sensitometry, basic masking techniques and equipment choices for setting up your own platinum/palladium darkroom.
This workshop is for Intermediate to Advanced students. Students should bring negatives no smaller than 4 x 5 with them to the workshop. It may be possible for students to obtain enlarged digital negatives of their negatives before the class by contacting Andy Schmitt, Photography Department Head at Peters Valley Craft Center.
